Dredging ponds will be opened initially by the use of
draglines to obtain floating area for a dredge. Dredging will be
conducted with a six to twelve inch conventional gravel dredge presently
owned or to be purchased. Screens, bins and dewatering equipment
will be located on shore-side facilities. Dewatering shall be co~iducted
in the following manner; a holding pond will be excavated in the area
to be mined and waste water will be pumped into the pond so waste fines
will settle. The pond will have an overflow flowing into the Cac}ie La
Poudre River. The operator has applied for a National Pollutant
Discharge Elimination System Permit.
