• • ~ REV~SE~ DATE rexza , ~~ The area to be reclaimed is just South of County Road 64, and is divided into two parts by the Cache La Poudre River. The area proposed to be dredged is within two miles of Greeley, and can be preserved in a natural state for the enjoyment of the people of. the area. The.oc~mer has agreed to provide weed control and stocking of the fishing ponds. Also that part that will not be involved in the mining operations will continue to be planted in field crop. It is the desire of the owners of the land and minerals that the area be preserved in the above manner. RECLAMATION STANDARDS Reclamation shall conform where applicable to the Weld County Zoning Regulations and to the full provisions of the Colorado Open Mining; Land Reclamation Act of 1976. This is a dredge operation in a wet ~ pit, and the proper slope will be maintained by placing waste fines back in the water and shaping the banks as operations proceed. Ttie banks of the ponds will have a slope of no steeper than 2:1, EXCEPT 5 feet above and 10 feet below the expected highcaater line where :;lopes shall not be steeper than 3:1. Between the ponds and property limes there 'i will be green belt areas. • Revegetation of the disturbed bank areas will be accomplished in the following manner: Topsoil accumulated along the ponds will be reapplied to the areas to be seeded at a depth of six to twelve inches, and graded as to create a final topography appropriate to the final land use. If backfilling is needed waste fines and overburden materials will be used and compacted for stability and [o prevent leaching of toxic materials. All grading shall be done in a manner to control erosion and to protect areas outside the affected lands. All refuse and acid-forming/toxic producing materials that have been mined shall be handled and disposed of in a manner that will control unsightliness and protect the drainage system fr~~m pollution. Seeding will be completed within one year after operations of each phase or within the next planting season after completion. The seed-mix will be drilled with a grassland drill equipped with depth bands, :ceedbox agitator and packer wheels. See the following pages for the seed mixture to be used. Each seed-mix corresponds to a Range Site developed by the Soil Conservation Service and Colorado Department of Natural Resources, 14ined Land Reclamation. The first seedmixture is recommended for all Range Sites because of its easy vegetation • establishment.
