• • REVISED <br />DATE ;I,~N 2a <br /> <br />The area to be reclaimed is just South of County Road 64, and is <br />divided into two parts by the Gache La Poudre River. The area proposed <br />to be dredged is within two miles of Greeley, and can be preserved in a <br />natural state for the enjoyment of the people of the area. The. owner <br />has agreed to provide weed control and stocking of the fishing ponds. <br />Also that part that will not be involved in the mining operations will <br />' continue to be planted in field crop. <br />It is the desire of the ocmers of the land and minerals that Che area <br />be preserved in the above manner. <br />RECLAMATION STANDARDS <br />Reclamation shall conform where applicable to the Weld County Zoning <br />Regulations and to the full provisions of the Colorado Open Minin.3 <br />Land Reclamation Act of 1976. This is a dredge operation in a wet <br />pit, and the propeA slope will be maintained by placing wastelfines <br />back in the water and shaping the banks as operations proceed. The <br />banks of the ponds will have a slope of no steeper than 2:1, EXCEPT <br />5 feet above and 10 feet below the expected highwater line where :;lopes <br />shall not be steeper than 3:1. Between the ponds and property litres there <br />will be green belt areas. <br />• Revegetation of the disturbed bank areas will be accomplished in the <br />following manner: Topsoil accumulated along the ponds will be ra<<pplied <br />to the areas to be seeded at a depth of six to twelve inches, and graded <br />as to create a final topography appropriate to the final land use. <br />If backfilling is needed waste fines and overburden materials will be <br />used and cogtpacted for stability and to prevent leaching of toxic _ <br />mat~~ ~ ~ 1 <br />All grading shall be done in a manner to control erosion and to protect <br />areas outside the affected lands. All refuse and acid-forming/toxic producing~l <br />materials that have been mined shall e handled a d dispose o u~tian 'E'er~" 7 ~ <br />that will control unsag mess and protect the drainage system rom ~ Ypt~' , <br />pollution. <br />Seeding will be completed within one year after operations of each <br />phase or within the next planting season after completion. The seed-mix <br />will be drilled with a grassland drill equipped with depth bands, :;eedbox <br />agitator and packer wheels. <br />See the following pages for the seed mixture to be used. Each sees!-mix <br />corresponds to a Range Site developed by the Soil Conservation Service and <br />Colorado Department of Natural Resources, t4ined Land Reclamation. The first <br />seedmixture is recommended for all Range Sites because of its easy vegetation <br />• establishment. <br />
