Exhibit L -Reclamation Costs
The following is our estimate of reclamation costs. The estimate is calculated on a per acre basis.
As discussed in the reclamation plan section, we will be placing overburden from newly mined areas on
previously mined areas when we expose a new area of the pit. Thus the cost of placing the overburden an
previously mined areas is absorbed in the cost of stripping the overburden from the pit. Reclamation costs aze
limited to shaping the site, placing the top soil, and re-vegetation.
Shaping:
Shaping the pit is done with a dozer. We eriimate a dozer and operator will take one day to shape l.5 acres of
reclaimed pit.
Equipment cost: 5 60.00 per hour
Labor cos[: S 30.00 per hour
Total Shaping cori: S 90.00 per hour
Placing Top Soil
Placing [op soil is done with a scraper. We estimate a scraper with a capacity of 16 cy/ load will take 5 hours to
place top soil on 1 acre of reclaimed pit. Production rate is 101oads per hour.
Equipment cos[:
Labor cori:
Total Shaping cori:
Re-vegetation
Seed, Mulch. & Place
Total Coris:
5 65.00 per hour
S 30.00 per hour
S 95.00 per hour
5 700.00 per acre
Shaping 590.00 per hour x 5.3 hours = S 480.00 per acre
Placing Top Soil 595.00 per hour x 5 hours = S 475.00 per acre
Re-vegetation = S 700.00 per acre
Total Reclamation Cost per Acre 51,755.00
Based on a maximum disturbance of 20.6 acres we propose [he bond amount be 537,000.00
14
