<br />• <br />NOTICE OF INTENT TO EXPLORE <br />INVOLVING REMOVAL OF 250 TONS OR LESS OF COAL <br />STOVE CANYON COAL EXPLORATION PLAN AREA <br />Seed Mixture For Reclamation <br />PACE 12i <br />The following seed mixture and notes were provided by the BLM, Grand Junction Field <br />Office. <br />Disturbed areas shall be seeded with the following mixture. Application rates are for <br />pure, live seed (PLS). Seed tags will be submitted to the BLM Field Manager within 30 <br />days of seeding. <br />Application Rate <br />S ecies lbs./Acre PLS <br />Arriba Western wheatgrass 2.5 <br />Sodar Streambank wheatgrass 1.8 <br />Nordan Crested wheatgrass 1.5 <br />Paloma Indian ricegrass 2.0 <br />Sherman Big bluegrass 0.5 <br />Lodorm Green needlegrass 0.5 <br />Delar Small burnet 1.5 <br />Rincon or Native Fourwing Saltbush 2_0 <br />Total PLS/Acre 12.3 lbs. <br />Notes: <br />Prepare seedbed by contour cultivating four to six inches deep. Drill seed 2 to 1 <br />inch deep following the contour. In areas that cannot be drilled, broadcast seed at <br />1.5 times the application rate and cover 2 to 1 inch deep with a harrow or drag <br />bar. <br />2. Seeding must be completed after August 15 and prior to October 1 of 2004. <br />3. The area is considered to be satisfactorily reclaimed when: <br />a. Soil erosion resulting from the operation has been stabilized. <br />b. A vegetative cover at least equal to that present prior to disturbance and a <br />plant species composition at least as desirable as that present prior to <br />disturbance has been established. Establishment of all the species in the <br />seed formula will be considered as meeting the composition/ desirable <br />species criteria. <br />r~ <br />U <br />
