Notice of Intent to Explore Involving Removal of 250 Tons or Less of Coal Stove Canyon Coal Exploration Plan Area Garfield County, Colorado July 2004 Introduction This plan is submitted to the Division of Minerals & Geology, Colorado Department of Natural Resources, in accordance with the Colorado Surface Coal Mining Reclamation Act, 34-33-101 et seq., C. R. S. 1973 as Amended, Section 34-33-117, and the Rules promulgated thereunder. Further references will be in the form of §2.02.2(2)(c). Central Appalachia Mining, LLC may hereinafter be referred to as CAM. Purpose The purpose of this proposed coal exploration plan is to further define the quality characteristics and extent of the coal reserves located on Federal Coal Leases, COC- 125515 and COC-0125516 controlled by CAM. Location The exploration plan area (XPA) is in Township 7 and 8 South> Range 102 West, 6th Principle Meridian, western Garfield County, Colorado. The area of interest is shown on Figure 1, Index Map. The general area of this exploration plan includes portions of: Township 7 South Township 8 outh Section 33: Section 2: Section 34: Section 3: I . Land Description Surface and coal ownership in the XPA is owned by the Federal Government. Surface and coal ownership in the XPA and surrounding area is shown on Figure 2, Surface and Coa/ Ownership.
