these three species from the 2001 exploration drilling project.
Of the remaining species and communities, only one; the Grand Mesa penstemon may be
encountered within the azeas proposed for disturbance. The Grand Mesa penstemon
inhabits open areas within oak and aspen communities and along road cuts. However,
lazge numbers of this species were recently recorded in the area, thereby questioning the
rarity of the Grand Mesa penstemon in this locale.
