Due to the
steep terrain, the exact location is subject to field
conditions; therefore, some minor adjustment may have to be
made to either the alignment or width. The route is
proposed to be constructed at-grade as much as possible in
order to minimize the disturbance area. The route is to be
constructed totally within the currently permitted
"estimated limits of mining and reclamation operations
disturbance for life of operations" area. This Minor
Revision in the "Operations Plan" is required due to local
geological and safety constraints encountered by the
dragline on the east side of the Wadge Pit.
The deadhead route will be of sufficient width
(approximately 100 ft. top width) to allow safe passage of
the dragline. Within the deadhead corridor, upward to 23.2
acres of topsoil will be salvaged in accordance with the
approved topsoil salvaging plan. Topsoil from this area
will be directly spread on reclaimed slopes or hauled to
existing topsoil stockpiles. The entire deadhead route
exists within proposed mining areas; therefore, reclamation
will occur once the coal removal operation has been
completed in accordance with the approved reclamation plan.
Sedimentation control will be provided by Sedimentation
Ponds N007 and N008. No deadhead route construction will
• be started in the H008 watershed until construction is
completed on the spillway and embankment.
