er.
May cerise very slgM transient (temporary)
corneal injury. Vapors may irthate the eyes.
SKIN: Prolonged exposure may cause moderate skEn
irrtaton, A single prolonged exposure le not likely t0
reSUN in the material being absorbed through the skin
in harmful amounts. The LDto for skin absorption hr
rabbhs is >5000 mg/kg,
INGESTION; Single dose oral toxicity is extremey bor.
The oral LDso for rats is >5000 mg/kg. No hazards
anticipated from swallowing small amounts iraitleMdl
to normal handling operatiors.
INHALATION: Excessive vapor Concentrations are at-
tainable and could be hazardous on single exposure.
The aerosol LCsB for rats is >3.0 mglL for 4 hours. Ex-
cessiveexposure (400 ppm) to isopropanol may cause
eye, nose and throat irritation. Incoordination, coMu-
sion, hypert¢nsion, hypothermia, circulatory collapse,
respiratory arrest and death may occur folbwing bnger
duration of higher levels. Observations in animals irv
clude middle ear lining tlamage upon exposure to va-
pors of isopropand.
SYSTEMIC (OTHER TARGET ORGAN) EFFECTS: In
animals, effects have been reponed on the folbwing
organs: liver antl kidney. Observations in animals kt-
clude lethargy. For isopropanol: Kidney effects and/or
Tumors have been observed in male rats. These ef-
fects are berreved to be species specific and unlikey
b occur in humans.
CANCER INFORMATION: For the components
tested, did not cause cancer in laboratory animals.
TERATOLOGY (BIRTH DEFECTS): Cbpyral'Id
caused birth defects in test animals. but only at greatly
exaggeratetl doses Mat were severety toxic to the
mothers. No birch tlefecs were observetl b animals
given clopyrapd ad doses several times greater than
those expected during normal exposure. Isopropyl
alcohol at extremely high wncentrations has keen
reportetl to cause birth defects antl fetal toxlciy in
rats. At borer concentrations there were no effects on
me feNs.
REPRODUCTIVE EFFECTS: For the componens
-_ . tested, in animal Studies, has been shown not to inter-
fere with reproduction.
