Causes moderate eye imtation. <br />Avoid breathing vapors or spmy mist Do not get in eyes, on skin or on clothing. <br />PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT {PPE): <br />Applicators and other handlers must wear: long-sleeved shirt and long pane, <br />waterproof gloves, shoes plus socks and protecive eye wear. <br />'~E ow manufacmror'a instmctions for cleaning/mainpining PPE. ]f no such in- <br />ctions for washables, use deurgem and hot wares Keep and wash PPE <br />m[ely from other laundry. If the mechanical system is used in a manner that meets the requirements <br />listed in the Worker Protection Standard (WPS) for agticulmml pesticides [40 <br />CFA 170.240 (d)(4)] the handler PPE requirements may be reduced or modified <br />m me rrro. <br />USER SAFETY RECOMMENDATIONS <br />Users should: <br />• Wash hands before eating, drinking, chewing gum, using tobacco or using the <br />collet <br />• Remove clothing immediately if pesticide gets inside. Then wash thoroughly <br />and put on clean clothing. <br />• Remove PPE immediately after handling this product. Wash the outside o <br />gloves beforc removing. As soon as possible, wash thoroughly and change <br />into clean clothing. <br />EN\7RONTHENTAL HAZARDS <br />This product is toxic to aquatic invenebmtes. Drift or mnoff may adversely affect <br />i squabs invenebmtes and non-target plants. Do no[ apply directly to water, to <br />areas where surface water is present or to intertidal areas below the mean high <br />water mark. Do not contaminate water when disposing of equipment washwaters. <br />I Do not apply when weather conditions favm drift from treated areas. Do not use <br />the same spmy equipment for other purposes unless thordughly cleaned. <br />Do not conaminate water uud for irrigation or domestic purposes. <br />Do not apply [his product directly to, or permit spmy mist to drift onto cotton, <br />okra, grapes, tamatces, fmit trees, vegetables, flowers or other desirable crop ar <br />ornamental plants which are susceptble to 2,4-D herbicide, Do not appy near <br />suueptible glottis since very small quantities of the 2,4-D will cause uvere injury <br />during the growing or dormant periods. Crops conpctcd by sprays or spray drift <br />may be killed or suffer significant stand loss with extensive quality and yield <br />reduction. <br />Do not apply when s tempemmre air inversion exists. Such a condition is char- <br />acterized by little or no air movement and an increase in air temperamr<widt an <br />increase in height. In humid regions a fog or mist may fomr. An inversion may <br />be detected by producing a smoke column end checking for a layering effect. <br />]f questions exist pertaining to the existence of an inversion, consult with local <br />weather services beforc making an application. <br />Uu coarse sprays m minimize drift. Do not apply with hollow cone type insecticide <br />or other nozles that produce fine spmy droplets. <br />Drift from aerial or ground applicaKon may be reduced by: (1) applying as <br />near to the target as possible in order to obtain coverage; (2) by increasing the <br />volume of spmy mix per acre; (3) by decreasing the pounds of pressure at the <br />nozzle tips; (4) by using nozzles which produce a coarse spray pattern; (5) by not <br />applying when wind is blowing toward susceptible valuable plants, <br />At high air or ground surface tempemmres, vapors from this product may injure <br />susceptible plants. <br />MIXING AND LOADING: Most cases of ground water contamination involving <br />phenozy herbicides ouch as 2,4-D have been associamd with mining/loading and <br />disposal sitR. Caution should be exercised when handling 2,4-D pesticides at such <br />sites to prevent contamination of ground water supplies. Use of closed systems fdr <br />mining or transferring this pesticide will reduce the probability of spills. Placement <br />of the mixingfloading equipment on an impervious pad to contain spills wit) help <br />prevent ground waur conpmination. <br />DIRECTIONS FOR USE <br />11 Is A Violation Of Federal Law To Use This Product In A Manner Inconsistrnt <br />Widt ]m Labeling. Read entve ]abet before using this produeL <br />Do not apply this product in a way char will cooper workers or other persons, <br />either directly or through drift. Only protected handlers may be in the area during <br />application. For any requirements specific to your Spte or Tribe, consult the <br />agency responsible for pesticide regulation. <br />AGRICULTURAL USE REQUIREMENTS <br />Use this product only in accordance with its labeling and with Ute Worker Pro- <br />tection Sandard, 40 CFR Pan 170. This Standard contains requirements for the <br />protection of agriculmml workers on farms, forests, nurseries and greenhouses, <br />and handlers of agriculmml pesticides. It contains requirements for training, <br />decontamination, nooficationand emergency assistance. I[ also contains specific <br />instructions and exceptions pertaining to the sptemenLS on this label about per- <br />sonalprotective equipment (PPE), and restricted entry interval. 71te requirements <br />in this box only apply m uses of this product that are covered by the Worker <br />Protection Standard. <br />Do not enter or allow entry into treated areas during the restricted envy' interval <br />(REI) of 12 hours. <br />PPE required for early entry to Heated areas that is permitted under the Worker <br />Protection Standard and that involves Boman with anything that has been treated <br />such as plants, soil or water is: coveralls, waterproof gloves, shoes plus socks <br />and Drouctive eye wear. <br />
