endangered species and pollinators, as well as surface water runoff hazards and <br />leaching into groundwater. <br />All pesticides will be handled with care, THE LABEL READ BEFORE EACH USE <br />AND HANDLING AND APPLICATION DIRECTIONS FOLLOWED. Properly <br />identifying the weed problem and the most effective chemical control method for <br />use during the plant growth cycle, is critical to control and eradication success. <br />Equipment will be properly calibrated before the pesticide is applied. Special <br />protective clothing is usually specified on the label. Empty containers will be <br />disposed of promptly, safely and according to the label. <br />1.4.2 Restricted Entry Intervals <br />Herbicides vary in the amount of time after an application before it is safe to reenter <br />the treated area without protective clothing and equipment. The Restricted Entry <br />Interval ("REI") is affected by the rate of application, size of the area treated and the <br />amount of time to be spent in the field. GCC and its contractors will comply with <br />the REIs listed on the herbicide's label. <br />1.4.3 Herbicide Storage <br />Storage of herbicides at GCC will be in a facility capable of protecting them from <br />temperature extremes, moisture and sunlight. The storage facility will be well <br />ventilated and designed for easy containment and cleanup of herbicide spills. <br />1.4.4 Record Keeping <br />GCC will maintain appropriate herbicide application records for the United States <br />Department of Agriculture ("USDA") and the Colorado Department of Agriculture <br />("CDA").
