• 4.8.2.4 Operational Groundwater Quality
Data from numerous water samples of wells GA-1, GA-3, GB-2, GB-5, GD-1, GE-1, GE-2 and GE-3 are
given in Table 4.&10 for the operational groundwater monitoring. Data from these same wells prior to
mining are given In Table 2.7-22. Map M52 shows the locations of each of the monitoring sites.
Results of one analysis of water from the wells GF-1, GF-2 and GF3, and two analyses of samples
from wells GBB-1, GBB-2 and GBB-3 are given in the operational water quality Table 4.&10. Data
from chemical analysis of samples from two seeps near the old Empire Energy pit are given in Table
4.8-10, also.
Most parameters have not demonstrated any significant change in concentration since mining has
started. The iron concentration in the water from well GA-1 is an exception. Well GA-1 is completed in
the O and R coal seams. These seams are being mined appropmatey 2500 feet east of well GA-1 in
the Enfield pit. Flow patterns should be mainy to the north in this area of the Q-R aquifer system.
•
•
4-227b
P~-~I
_ ~Ax l ~._~s9a -
