~-

also shown on Map M54C.

The Third White Sandstone, Second White Sandstone, and alluvial aquifer
piezometric levels are presented on M54C, Wells CB2 and GBB1 were used in the
construction of this water-level elevation map. Flow direction in the Third White
Sandstone is mainly toward the north, as expected. Natural variations in recharge
to this aquifer are thought to have caused more changes in the piezometric map of
the Third White Sandstone than mining.
The piezometric surfaces in Map M32 indicate that the shallow aquifer system
in Pyeatt obtains a significant amount of ground water from the Second White
•- Sandstone, while the Third White Sandstone is restricted from yielding a large
amount of water to thin system. The heads in the Third White SS are estimated to be
significantly below the Pyeatt ehallow:cyatem in the area of wells P4 and PS Csee
Map M32). A width of approximately 1700 feet of the Second While Sandstone could
yield 33 gpm; the flow measured in the Pyeatt aquifer system near well P-1. The
Second White Sandstone is thought to contribute the majority of the water in the
Pyeatt system.

~J
4-226ii
REVISED AUG 19 '87
