Battle Mountain's permit application also contains <br />detailed information regarding water sources to be used at the site <br />including: <br />1. Use of approximately 200 gpm inflows to the <br />west pit for make up water in the mining <br />process. These inflows were estimated at 27 <br />acre-feet per month. Vol. 6A, pages 1014-1024. <br />2. The inflows from the west pit were to be used <br />to provide process make up water from two <br />dewaterinq wells of approximately 100 gpm each. <br />Vol. 6A, pages 1082,1084. <br />3. Additional ground water required as process <br />make-up water was to be obtained from we:11s and <br />piped to the mine site. Vol. 6A, page 1024. <br />4. Battle Mountain submitted substantial <br />information regarding the amounts of water <br />contained within each pit and the amount of <br />water that would need to be withdrawn during <br />mining operations. Vol. 6A. pages 1081-1085. <br />Battle Mountain indicated that water supply for <br />the mining operations will be met at least in <br />part from water derived from pit dewaterinq. <br />Vol. 6A, pages 1024-1025. <br />Additional evidence describing the sources of water <br />necessary to meet project water requirements was preser~.ted at <br />the hearings. This evidence included: <br />1. Testimony by Ann BaPdrige that Battle Mountain <br />intended to use water from pit dewaterinq and <br />other underground sources to supply project <br />water needs. Vol. 3, gage 553. <br />3. Water Rights Were Addressed. <br />The Board received extensive evidence regarding the <br />impact of Battle Mountain's operations on existing water <br />rights and Battle Mountain's intention and ability to obtain <br />- 2A - <br />
