1
' EXHIBIT D
' Soils
Swallow Perlite Mine
' Ruby Gravelly Sandy Loam
5 - 30% Slope
This series exhibits very shallow to shallow very dark brown loams to
clay loams. This is underlain by acid igneous , basalt, limestone or sand-
stone parent rock. The permeability is moderate to the underlying parent
rock, and the water holding capacity is strongly limited due to the shallow
surface horizon. The soil reaction is usually neutral to acidic.
' Strontia Coarse Gravelly Sandy Loam
The soils of this series are medium to light in texture and are mostly
' shallow. They overlie coarse gravel , cobble, glacial till , or impervious
bedrock. Gravel , cobble, and stones are intermixed throughout the soil
profile, and are generally abundant on the surface. The permeability is
' moderately rapid for Strontia coarse gravelly sandy loam.
1
I
1
1
1
1
