r
• DIVISION OF MINERALS & GEOLOGY BOARD PERhIIT APPLICATION
REGULAR OPERATION (112)
PROJECT NAME: HOGUE/RIVER FIT
Pace 1
EXHIBIT L - RECLAMATION COSTS
A. 'rhe reclamation of the project will be a continual operation
throughout the life of the mine. Removed overburden will be
hauled directly to backfill areas in areas exhausted of gravel
reserves. Initially, stripped topsoil will be utilized to
construct stockpiles along the north side of the pit. These
stockpiles are to satisfy the requirements of the RoutC County
Special Use Permit. Excess topsoil will be sold or transported
directly to areas being reclaimed. This will limit the amount
of topsoil to be stockpiled at any one time. The maximum
estimated amount of topsoil that would be stockpiled and
subject to be utilized for reclamation is estimated in Exhibit
D - Mine Plan, Section I.
i!sing the representation in Exhibit D, the maximum amount of
topsoil to be generated from this project is 47,660 BCY.
However, due to the creation of a pond, topsoil will only he
• .required to be replaced around the perimeter of the pond.
Topsoil replacement quantities are based upon the length of the
outside perimeters of proposed shoreline in each phase. A 50
feet width is used to evaluate quantities. Existing shorelines
located in Phase I are not considered for topsoil replacement.
However, additional topsoil quantities are included in Phase I.
'Phe additional 4,600 cubic yards is included for intangible
areas in all phases and will not necessarily be required.
PROPOSED TOPSOIL ADDITIONAL REQUIRED TOTAL
;?HASE SHORELINE BCY OTY QTY CY FOR RECLAM
I 1,300' 2,410 4,600 7,OI0
II 500' 950 950
III 2,300' 4,260 4,260
IV 1,500' 2,750 2,730
'T'OTALS 5,600' 10,400 4,600 15,000
----- ------ ----- ------
----- ------ ----- ------
'T'he maximum estimated amount of shoreline that would be exposed
to mining operations and subject to reclamation during any
phase of operations is anticipated to not exceed 2,500 LF.
'Phis would include project completion or the area prior to
completion of all phases. It is determined, by using previous
. calculations, that this would require 4,630 CY of topsoil.
Phis is calculated as:
?,500 LF shoreline X 50 feet (wide) X 12 inches (depth of
topsoil) = 125,000 SF (of topsoil) / 27 4.630 CY of topsoil
subject to replacement.
Duckels Construction, Inc. dba Yampa Aggregates
41230 Routt County Rd. #129, Steamboat Springs, Colorado 30487
