A significant contribution to <br />understanding the pattern of site locations in the North <br />Fork country has begun to emerge from this work. Only nine <br />(9) of the newly recorded resources are believed to be <br />eligible for the National Register. Thirteen (13) resources <br />new and previously known may require additional evaluations <br />or mitigation efforts if they are to be impacted. Overall, <br />however, the proposed coal mine expansion appears to pose <br />few substantial threats to any existing or potential National <br />Register eligible resources. A combined evaluation and <br />mitigation plan will be prepared for the 1984 permit area if <br />any resources are to be impacted. CWI is prepared to <br />implement this plan as a condition for obtaining the new <br />permit. <br />• <br /> <br />
