l •
EXECOTIVE SOM!lARY
An initial evaluation of potential subsidence impacts has
been prepared for Storm King Mines' Coal Ridge No. 1 Mine in
Garfield County, Colorado, by Mining & Subsidence Engineering
Company. This evaluation contains the necessary information on
subsidence required to satisfy the regulations of the Colorado
Mined Land Reclamation Board for Coal Mining.
This evaluation presents an inventory of all existing and
proposed structures as well as the existing renewable resource
lands within and adjacent to the proposed permit area. A
description of the worst possible consequences of subsidence on
the structures and renewable resource lands was developed. Based
on these subsidence predictions, a determination of no possible
material damage and/or reasonably foreseeable use has been made.
• A limited subsidence monitoring program is presented.
The inventory of existing and proposed structures listed the
following structures:
Proposed mine facilities
Riverbend Subdivision
County Road 335
County Road 314
County Road 134
Powerline #CO-123828
Glenwood Springs City Landfill
Vulcan Ditch
Porter Reservoir
Sykes and Alford Ditch
Duncan Ranch
Barton Porter Ranch
All of these existing and proposed structures are located outside
the area of influence of mining-related surface subsidence.

page 1
