Dept. of Naturat Resources
Denver, Colorado 80203
Dear Mr. Overton:
We are writing to inform you that Colorado Lien Company has
cancelled their contract to quarry limestone in Section 16 and
Section 36 of our Larimer County Rex Quarry effective January 1 ,
1978.
We are in the process of selecting a new quarry operator
through competitive bidding and we hope we will have a new contractor
sometime in February 1978. Our reclamation, mining and phasing plans
will stand as submitted for Board approval .
We did submit an incomplete plan during the same time frame as
the complete one submitted by Lien on Holly's behalf as we were not
sure Lien would do so before 1 , 1977 deadline. We would
like to cancel Holly's incomplete application and a return of Holly's
application fee covering that application.
We also would like to know the status of the reclamation contract
submitted by Lien to the Colorado Bureau of Mines under the old
reclamation law and the performance bond of Travellers Indemnity
No. 297-B3773, dated November 18, 1974, guaranteeing reclamation on
our Section 36 quarry operation, as specified in this contract, in
amount of $50,000.00.
Sincerrel yours,
Neil P. Stadtmiller
Limestone Coordinator
NPS/ls
cc: Mr. L. L. Neville
Mr. J. C. Cooper
