Alamosa is experiencing considerable growth
and has a shortage of legal pits for fill material for general
construction. I own a 145 acre tract that, due to its location on a
hill, is ideally suited for a borrow pit.
I have never had a mining reclamation permit nor have I ever applied for
one. Please bear with me if I have failed to provide all required
information and I will remedy any defects in this application that are
brought to my attention.
Enclosed are two copies of my application for a 110 permit and a check
for $875.00 to cover the application fee. I have discussed reclamation
with a contractor and I believe that we should be able to replace the top
soil and reclaim the site for $1000.00 to $1200.00 per acre. Will you
notify me as to the amount required for bonding and provide me with the
information on how to set up a CD or other possible way to provide the
financial warranty required? Of the 9 acres involved in the site, there
should not be more than 6 acres disturbed at any given time.
Thank you for your assistance.
Sincerely,
ryyJ,
Daniel M.
