Mine
This letter is the Threatened and Endangered Wildlife Spccics statement which you
recently reyuested from the Colorado Division of Wildlife.
The following T & E species arc found in the arcs which you have shown on the map
At this time we do not have knowledge of any nests or other critical habitats identified in
the vicinity of the drill holes for the above species. To the best of our knowledge the
exploratory drill holes will have little effect vn the T Nc E species found in the arcs. A
current list of State T &c C species is included with this teller. If any of these species is
found it is imperative to notify the CDOW prior to continuing with Drilling operations.
provided with your letter as being the location of the four exploratory drill holes.
Bald Eagle wintering population along NT of Gunnison River.
Golden Cagle year round population possibly nesting in clil'ts near the
drillsitc labeled BW-I
River Otter marginal population found in NF of Gunnison River
All efforts must be made to minimize sedimentation or water contamination caused by
drilling, establishment or reestablishment of any roads or drill pads in the arcs. Any
increase in sediment load or water contamination in the NF of the Gunnison River may
negatively effect the endangered fishes found downstream in the Gunnison and Colorado
Rivers. A statement from the; US Fish and Wildlife Service concerning federally listed T 8c
E species is advised.
Sincerely,
Kirk Madariaga, DWM
cc: Jim Young
nRPARTMRNT OP NATURAI.
