EXHIBIT D
Mining Plan
Mining will be accomplished in 7 phases as outlined below with stripping,
backfilling and removal of high calcium limestone of the Leadville
formation going on simultaneously. The overburden material consists
largely of light grey limestone with minor amounts of soil which is
relatively high in magnesium. This material will need be drilled and
blasted in order to remove the overburden to uncover the high calcium '
limestone. This blasting and subsequent handling of the material will
generate fines which will aid in revegetation efforts.
The underlying bed is a dark grey dolomite limestone of the Dyer
Formation. The high content of magnesium in this formation makes this
bed unsaleable for our current market.
Conventional open pit quarring methods will be employed in the operation.
The Iow grade limestone will be drilled, blasted and removed using
pneumatic track drill equipment for drilling and dozers and front end
loaders for the removal of the material. The high calcium Leadville
limestone will then be drilled and blasted and then loaded into trucks
• for haulage to the stockpile area for crushing and sizing. Necessary
roads twill be constructed as required to provide access to the mining
operation. The roads will be constructed primarily with the over-
burden material and covered with 3 to 12 inches of 3/4 minus limestone.
Roadways will not need to be constructed outside the disturbed area.
Roads that are constructed will be graded, covered or scarified to
facilitate revegetation,
•
