Also, since <br />the area is caell protected from erosion forces by nature, <br />the protection problem has not occurred. If, however, the <br />topsoil does beg~.n to exhibit erosion tendencies, the <br />operator :•!ill quickly take steps to prevent erosion from <br />occurring. <br />6. ~: In addition to the proposed grass mix, the staff <br />recommends that the operator randomly plant an assortment <br />of native trees and shrub seedlings. Please describe the <br />spacing and the approximate number of each individual <br />species to he utilized. Tree and shrub seedlings could he <br />purchased at nominal cost irom tl,e Colora~o State Forest <br />Service nursery in Fort Collins. <br />A: As pan be ,seen upon visiting the site, trees and <br />other shrubs ter_d to sprout themselves as is p.reven by <br />several evergreens gr.owino at the west er_d of the active <br />pit area.
