Ranney
Reclamation Specialist
Division of Mlnerals & Geology
1313 Sherman Street, Rm. 215
Denver, Colorado 80203
Re: Oakridge Energy, Inc., File No. C-92-080
Dear Mr. Ranney:
This office has reviewed the additional information and map provided by
Darry Ferguson in his correspondence of November 23, 1992 concerning the
• Oakridge Energy mine.
It appears that mining operations in the area of the current disturbance
have destroyed a portion of archaeological site SLP356. However, it
appears that portions of the site may still exist southwest of the current
disturbance. We, therefore, request that mining operations not be
permitted outside the area of current disturbance in this southwest portion
(see enclosed map). The area of planned disturbance is outside the site
boundaries and will not affect cultural resources.
Should unidentified cultural resources be discovered during mining
operations, work must be Halted until the resources have been evaluated in
terms of the National Register criteria, 36 CFR 60.4, in consultation with
this office.
If we may be of further assistance please contact Jim Green at 866-4674.
Sincerely,
~~
James E.
