Crested <br />Wheatgrass is an introduced long lived perenial that will not <br />only maintain its place in a seeded stand but will) not give way <br />to natural reinvasion by native species. The applicant should <br />reduce this species to a low precentage of the total mix or <br />'eliminate it altogether. ~ <br />The application must include plan for reseeding diversion ditches. <br />I <br />Mulching Cover Crops ~ <br />No mention as to what type of mulches will be usedland what <br />amounts will be applied (p. 3-14). The applicant should state <br />the amount, type and hots the mulch will be anchored to the soil. <br />On page 3-11 it is stated that spring grains will be used as a <br />prepartory crop. ?that types of grains will be used and what <br />provisions have been made to stop their competition with other <br />species due to volunteer? (784.13(b)(5) j <br />References areas (783.22(f}) (7B4.13(b}(5)) and (764.13(b)(5)(vi)) <br />The location for reference areas do not detail the size (one half <br />to one acre} of each area nor did the applicant give data to <br />show how representative each reference area is (as to production <br />cover and diversity) to the vegetation community it is to <br />represent (p. 3-15). For example, the applicant has stated that <br />there are differences within tree densities under the P.J. !Joodland <br />types (p. 4-4B).
