Your comments on the adequacy
and appropriateness of the wildlife baseline and mitigation sections
would be appreciated.
The Office of Surface Mining requested, in their apparent Complete-
ness Review of the enclosed documents, that Northern present a
letter verifying Don Hoffman's assessment that construction of
the Milk Creek Rail Loadout is not a concern with respect to
Sage Grouse populations in the area. (see Vol. VIII, page X-40
and Attachment 1). We want to request that you review this section
as soon as possible and send to us either Don Hoffman's letter or
other appropriate response. We will forward your response to
Northern.
Please give me a call verifying that you have received these
volumes, and I'71 try to answer any questions you might have
regarding the Meeker area mines review at that time.
Sincerely,
Dan Mathews
Reclamation Specialist
DM:mab
cc: Terry Schultz
