Richartl D. Lamm
Governor
III IIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL. RESOURCES
Davitl H. Getches, Executive Director
MINED LAND RECLAMATION DI\
DAVID C. SHELTON, Director
May 29, 1986
Mr. Carwin Bleidt
1001 East Second Avenue
Durango, CO 81301
RE: Blue Flame Mine - File No. C-81-053
Dear Mr. Bleidt:
~e'l~ tN~y ~ Z
Per m.i C'~
~.2Jr~etJ
Thank you for bringing to our attention the various errors and problems of our
second adequacy letter mailed to you on May 23rd. The Division has attempted
to utilize the computer more and more as a means of streamlining our
workload. Unfortunately, sometimes the computer strikes back as in the case
of our second adequacy letter when page four was lost and replaced by a
duplicated page two. We have been unable to locate the original page four in
the computers memory and all handwritten copy has been discarded. Therefore,
it was necessary the the Division to re-review your May 12th submittal.
Attached please find a new second adequacy letter. Please disregard the
previous adequacy letter sent on May 23rd. Please respond as expeditiously as
possible to the enclosed letter.
The following paragraphs, excerpts from our May 23rd cover letter, are still
valid:
The Division is greatly encouraged over the progress made to date. The
new application submittal adequately addresses many of our initial
concerns. As with any submittal of the nature of the May 12th
submittal, some new concerns were raised due to new information being
presented. Thus, a second adequacy letter was prepared. The attached
represents the concerns of our March 3rd letter that unfortunately were
not addressed and new concerns raised from reviewing the May 12th
submittal.
Pursuant to Rule 2.07.4(2)(b), the Division must make a decision
pertaining to this permit application by June 6, 1486. This date is
one hundred and twenty (120) days since the completeness date of
February 7, 1986. If Blue Flame is unable to respond, with sufficient
time prior to the June 6th date to allow Division review, a request for
a sixty (60) day extension can be made, pursuant to this Rut e.
423 Centennial Building, 1313 Sherman Street Denver, Colorado 80203 Tel.
