Dept. of Natural Resources <br />In accordance with our letter to the Division on November 11, <br />1981 Colorado Coal Mining Company intends to commence surface <br />mining activities on a limited scale pursuant to its approved <br />permit #80-59. <br />It is our understanding, as a result of the Divisions letter <br />of August 19, 1981 that commencement of such activities will <br />not be prohibited. Further, during a November 2, 1981 <br />telephone conversation with Mr. Fred Banta, I was informed <br />that the Division would be more receptive to allowing the <br />commencement of the limited activities if we provided <br />responses to the P.A.R. letter. In that respect, we have <br />provided a vast majority of the responses for the Division to <br />review. <br />Therefore, it is anticipated that such activities will <br />commence on December 22, 1981.
