The Storm King Mine has adequate information to make findings under the
following Rule citation:
Rule 4.05.10 - Underground Mine Entry and Access Drainage;
Rule 4.05.14 - Transfer of Wells;
Rule 4.05.18 - Stream Buffer Zones; and
Rule 4.07 -Sealing of Drill Holes and Underground Openings.
Additional baseline surface and ground water data is needed to complete the
year's baseline requirements under the following Rules:
Rule 2.04.5 - General Description of Hydrology and Geology
Rules 2.04.7(1) and (2) - Hydrologic Description;
Rule 4.24 - Operations on Alluvial Valley Floors.
Additional geologic baseline is needed for the surface facilities area to
adequate satisfy requirements under Rules:
Rule 2.04.6 - Geology Description
Rule 4.24 - Operations on Alluvial Valley Floors.
The company is aware of the inadequacies in surface water, ground water, and
geologic baseline. The company needs to incorporate the additional baseline
data in their discussion of probable hydrologic consequences of mining, and
alluvial valley floors discussion. Additional detail is also needed in the
operations plan to evaluate the applicant's assessment of probable hydrologic
consequences of mining and impacts to alluvial valley floors. The company has
been made aware for deficiencies in the operations plan and discussion of
probable hydrologic consequences of mining sections.
Additional adequacy questions may arise once the applicant has submitted the
additional information requested in the preliminary -preliminary adequacy
review letter. Additional adequacy questions may arise concerning the
following rules:
