,.. <br />-6- <br /> <br />Thee primary land use 1n the valley is Irrigated agriculture. Orchards <br />and pastureland are Irrigated via the Fire Mountain Canal, which diverts <br />water from the North Fork of the Gunnison, and the Deer Trail Ditch, <br />which diverts water from Hubbard Creek. Irrigation water at Terror Creek <br />is supplied by the Deer Trail Ditch, which flows by culvert over the Fire <br />Mountain Canal near the northern permit boundary. The pre-disturbance <br />land use at Terror Creek was irrigated orchard. <br />Wildlife use of the permit area is largely~~tncidental, and though some <br />use of the agricultural land by wildlife does occur, particularly during <br />winter, 1t is not critical habitat for any species. The North Fork of <br />the Gunnison from Somerset downstream to the confluence with the main <br />stem of the Gunnison 15 not considered to be an important fishery, as <br />rough fish make up a significant portion of the fish population. <br />.~ .. . r ., ~> •. _ <br />
