-4-
2.* The application does not contain a map of the springs and seeps
within the permit and adjacent areas. This information will be
provided by SOAP.
3.* Map TP-1 and the narrative on page 37 describe water uses in areas
adjacent to the permit area. This information must be expanded. The
SUAP program will provide a more complete study of the uses of water
within the permit and adjacent areas.
4.* A description of yround water within the permit area is provided on
page 34. This information was inadequate to address the concerns of
Rule 2.04.7(1). The SOAP program will provide more detailed analyses
of the yround water.
5.* The description of the protection of the hydrologic balance presented
on pages 94-y.6 addressed the probable f~ydrologic impacts of mining.
These conclusions will be varified by empirical information provided
by the SOAP program.
Rule 2.04.10 - Vegetation Information
1. The vegetation survey presented on pages 62-64 of the application is
inadequate to address the concerns of Rules 2.04.10 and 4.15. The
information was sufficient to describe the general species
composition and current condition of the vegetation of adjacent
,~ areas. However more detailed vegetation information must be supplied
fur the area currently undisturbed which will be disturbed by this
operation. The Division suggests that transacts be taken of this
area to define species diveristy, productivity, cover and woody plant
density. The Division will work with the applicant after this
information is obtained to set the standards for revegetation success.
Rule 2.05.3(c) -Roads
1. Inadequate design information was provided for the Division to
dote rnrine if the requirements of Rule 4.03.2 have been adequately
addressed for the access road. Specific issues which must be shown
in more detail than presented on pages 72 and 73 are:
a. the overall grade of the access road from the tipple to the far
north entry;
b. the angles of the cut slopes and embankments;
c. the design criteria for the Lewis Gulch culvert and for the
trench turnaround area; and
d. a stability evaluation of the worst-case situation along the
road .
