• • III IIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
STATE OF COLORADO
Roy Romer, Govei
DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES
MINED LAND RECLAMATION DIVISION
FRED R. BANTA, Director
DATE: November 23, 1987
T0: David Berry c 2~
FROM: Dan Mathews ~,~r / I
RE: Mine 3 Erosion Control Ditch; File No. C-84-062
I discussed the erosion control ditches located at the southern end of the
Mine 3 Pit reclaimed area with Rick Mills on November 20, 1987. I recommended
that the upper segment of the newly constructed ditch be removed because of
potential erosion at the switch back.
I also indicated that CYCC should ensure that the older diversion ditch to the
north of the recent reclamation connects with the newly constructed ditch
which will remain in place, and that necessary maintenance should be done in
some locations along the ditch to provide for appropriate grade and capacity.
A trapezoidal ditch 5 feet wide by 1 foot deep should be sufficient to convey
runoff from the reclaimed slope into Ditch NoN-3.
/bdc
3582E
423 Centennial Building, 1313 Sherman Street Denver, Colorado 80203-2273 Tel.
