As you know, Perma Mining
Corporation is permitting the Colorado Coal Mine under dry
mining conditions, i.e., no wetted seams will be mined.
However, efforts are underway to provide evidence that
hydrologic conditions which will be encountered during mining
can be adequately dealt with. When this is completed, Perma
will request that the dry mine permit be revised to include
all coal seams.
Perma requests that reclamation of the test pit be delayed
until the fourth quarter of 1983. This should allow adequate
timing for the permit revision process under a full mining
plan. If this process is still underway during the fourth
quarter of 1983, it is requested that an extension of
reclamation activities be contingent upon the permit review
process.
A timetable of the reclamation sequence is referenced in a
letter dated January 10, 1983 from Mr. Rade Orell to
yourself. Section III of this correspondence outlines this
information.
Please call if you have any questions.
S i `K.b.~~~.+/ .
David Smaldone
Director of Engineering
DS/pks
cc: C.
