Lamm
Governor
February 25, 1983
Mr. D. L. Damrau
Permitting Coordinator
Colorado Yampa Coal Company
Box 772129
Steamboat Springs, Colorado 80477
Re: Adequacy Concerns on the Foidel Creek Permit Revision
Dear Mr. Damrau:
As stated in our letter dated February 16, 1983, the Division
is extending the decision deadline for the Foidel Creek Permit
Revision Application because of concerns regarding the
discussion of probable hydrologic consequences. Attached to
this letter is a memo from Jerry Zimpfer regarding surface
water concerns and a memo from Roy Cox in regard to ground
water concerns and geology. Responses to these concerns are
necessary in order for the Division to continue with those
sections of the review.
Additionally, there are a few problems with other sections.
These are as follows:
Subsidence:
Within the proposed revision to page 2.05-59 of the
permit application, the applicant refers to a structure
located in the SW 1/4 of Section 19. In actuality, as
depicted on Map 4a, the structure appears to be located
In the SE 1/4 of the SE 1/4 of Section 19.
2. Subsidence:
Within the proposed revision to page 2.05-50 of the
permit application, the applicant refers to Exhibit 6,
entitled °Subsidence Predictions". In fact, the
reference should be made to Exhibit 5a.
423 Centennial Building. 1313 Sherman Street Denver, Colorado 80203 Tel. (303) 86F-3587
