Long
Division Director
This is the final notification to you and the Pennsylvania West Coal Company to remove the
machinery and equipment from the Coal Gulch Mine site. The State originally gave you until
August 31, 1993 to accomplish this task but will extend the date to September 25, 1993
since nothing has been done towards the removal of the equipment.
On September 3, 1993, I contacted Beeman Brothers Drilling again and they still have not
received any notification from you. I also contacted Greg Lewicki to determine if anything
positive has been done towards completing the work necessary for permitting actions to
continue. He informed me that he has received nothing from you, either.
Therefore, with the lack of any action by Pennsylvania West Coal Company, the Division has
scheduled apre-bid meeting for the reclamation of Coal Gulch Mine on September 28, 1993,
with the work to commence no later than October 26, 1993.
If you have any questions concerning this matter, please write.
Sincerely,
Harry B.
