My staff has discussed <br />your concept to extend mining to t1~e west for the existing mine with the <br />Geological Survey. We agree with them that additional, detailed information <br />ie required. Since the mining is proposed for new areas of coal pursuant to <br />30 CFR 741.11(a)(2), the submission to modify the mine plan must comply with <br />the Permanent Regulatory Program. In order [o minimize future changes in [he <br />plan, St would be desirable for your submission to be comprehensive and [o <br />incorporate those existing facil.i[les that will remain in use. Please also <br />ensure that the submission addresses ventilation for all of rile mine and any <br />surface disturbance.
