Mr. Dean Massey
January 18, 1979
Page 2
n
u
CWI has taken every step to assure that any possiblility
of either air or water pollution will be prevented. The 4.38
acre area is situated so as to allow very easy containment of
water for sedimentation purposes. We anticipate no problem
with water quality.
We should also advise you that we have discussed this
situation with the Air Quality Division of the Health Depart-
ment. We have received permission to stockpile this coal on an
emergency basis.
As soon as the weather situation in the mid-West will
allow the unit trains to return to our mine, we will remove
this coal and return the area to its normal state. I would an-
ticipate that this situation could exist for as long as two
weeks, but hopefully no longer.
Thank you very much for your help in this very unusal
situation. Should you have any additional question, please
feel free to contact me.
GTM/kag
Sincerely,

Gerald T. McPhee
Vice President
Government Relations
r.yt.
