Mr. Robert H. Caskey -2- November 21, 1994 Colorado Division of Wildlife The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle maps of Dunckley and Mount Harris. Pursuant to the above referenced Act, we are requesting your agency's evaluation of the proposed mining and reclamation plan. We are specifically requesting your comments regarding the adequacy of the fish and wildlife resources information, the fish and wildlife plan, and the mining and reclamation plan as it relates to fish and wildlife considerations, including potential impacts to threatened or endangered species. If wildlife habitat is the proposed postmining land use, we request your evaluation of proposed woody plant stocking levels, planting arrangements, and methods for mitigation of potential adverse impacts. A copy of the permit application is being sent to your agency by Seneca Coal Company. Please advise us if you need additional information. In order for us to comply with regulatory time frames, we request that comments be submitted to the Division of Minerals and Geology at the above address by 5:00 p.m. on January 13, 1995. If no comments are received by this date, we will proceed on the assumption that your agency has no concerns with or objections to the applicant's proposal. A copy of the application is available for public inspection at the Hayden public Library, 225 East Jefferson Avenue, Hayden, Colorado. Written comments, objections or requests for an informal conference on the application may be submitted to, and additional information obtained from, the Division of Minerals and Geology, Room 215, 1313 Sherman Street, Denver, Colorado 80203, (303) 866-3567. Written comments, objections or requests for an informal conference must be filed at the Division by 5:00 p.m., within thirty days after the last public notice in the Steamboat Pilot.
