- .

Memo to Rich Domin gue ~,
June 11, 1981
Page 2
7.• The applicant should consider adding at least one Leguminous species
to the fortis, in order to aid in nitrogen fixation and re-establishment of
mycorrhizae in the reclaimed areas. ~
Peripheral Concerns II
1. The vegetation map lacks sufficient adjacent area to allow habitat
analysis for wildlife. Sampling locations should be provided on the vegetation
map.
2. The applicant states that reference areas have been approved (page 2).
It has been the contention of the Division that any time anew permit or
major revision of an existing permit is submitted, all areas of the, application
are opened to re-evaluation. You should carefully scrutinize correspondence
to determine if the Division has analyzed and accepted these areas.'
3.. If Bolton Draw is in the permit area, there is a discernible riparian
type vegetative community which has not been mapped as such.
4. Is Pit #1 to be reclaimed to the mix proposed?
5. Contrary to the applicant's contention, revegetation success criteria
are thoroughly addressed in the State Regulations Section 4.15.8. ~
6. The applicant's statistical analysis needs to be carefully checked
for utilization of correct formulae, assumptions, and critical values.
~~r
