Drawer "E"
Paonia, Colorado 81428
Re: Requested Amendment to Interim Program Mining Permit
File No. 77-353, Orchard Valley Mine
Dear Pat:
As I explained in our phone conversation this afternoon, the Division has
decided to handle your request for permission to begin mining into federal
lease 27432 as an amendment to your interim program mining permit. The
Division feels it will be necessary to reevaluate your current reclamation
bond and to attach stipulations to your amended permit requiring all
information requested in our letter of December 2, 1980 be submitted for
review.
We need a letter from you specifically incorporating the materials you
submitted in June 1979 into your permit amendment and expanding your permit
boundary to include your present permitted area, the total extent of your
present underground workings, and the area you plan to mine into during the
next twelve months.
Before the review of such an amendment can continue, a map delineating
the new permit boundary and the ground water hydrology data requested in
our letter of December 2, 1980 will be required. An application fee based
on the number of acres included in the new permit area wilt be required
(Rule 1.8) and public notice must be published in accordance with Rule 2.2
of the July, 1978 Rules and Regulations.
As always, if I may be of further assistance or if these arrangements are
unclear or unacceptable, feel free to call me.
Sincerely,
Peter N.
