<br />INTRODUCTION <br />This document is the approval package prepared by the Colorado Mined Land <br />Reclamation Division for Pueblo Coal, Incorporated's Carbon Junction <br />Mine, located near Durango, Colorado in La Plata County (Figure 1). <br />This document contains the proposed decision to approve the permit <br />application with stipulations, a summary which includes a description of <br />the review process for the permit application, a description of the <br />environment affected by the mining operation, a description of the <br />operation and reclamation plan, and the written findings of compliance <br />which the Division is required to make pursuant to the Colorado Surface <br />Coal Mining Reclamation Act of 1979. Detailed information about the <br />proposed mining and reclamation operations can be found in the permit <br />application and the public record maintained by the Division at 1313 <br />Sherman Street, Room 423, Denver, Colorado, and in the permit application <br />on file at the La Plata County Courthouse, in Durango, Colorado. <br />
