<br />pit the spoil material will be used to back fill <br />the pit. This material will be placed in <br />horizontal layers not generally exceeding 25 <br />feet in height. <br />}. Highwalls, spoil banks, benches, ramps, and <br />terrain sloping into the working area shall be <br />examined by a qualified person after every rain, <br />freezing, thawing, and prior to men working in <br />the area. This examination shall be recorded <br />in accordance with Section 77.1713. Any unsafe <br />overhang or ground conditions shall be corrected <br />or the area posted as unsafe for work. <br />k. Men, other than those required to correct an <br />unsafe condition, shall not work near dangerous <br />highwalls or ground conditions. <br />1. When work is being performed 'to correct an un- <br />safe working condition, a safe means shall be <br />provided to perform such work. The hazardous <br />material will be approached and removed from <br />a safe location. <br />m. Men shall not work between equipment on the <br />highwall or spoil banks where such equipment may <br />hinder escape from fall or slides. If a piece <br />of equipment is immobilized, and work must be <br />performed, special safety precautions shall be <br />taken. <br />n. All miners at the mine shall be trained, as part <br />of initial orientation and annual retraining, in <br />the provisions of this ground control plan. <br />5. Mine Location <br />a. The Carbon Junction Mine is located in the <br />following sections, townships, and renges in the <br />State of Colorado near Durango: <br />Section 33, T 34 1/2 N, R9W <br />Section 33, T 35 N, R9W <br />6.
