east of the site's boundaries. No features were defined. The site
contains approximately 20 shale interior flakes and 1 quartzite interior
flake, all unretouched, ,indicating presence of secondary lithic
reduction activities in the vicinity. Due to the sparseness of
artifacts, the lack of diagnostic tools and features, and its naturally
disturbed condition, the site is not considered to be eligible to the
National Register of 1listoric Places.
I No isolated finds were located.
I SUMMARY AND RECOMMENDATIONS

One prehistoric site was located during the archaeological
I inventory of approximately 345 acres of proposed lease area. The site,
5GF1205, has been recorded and field sketch mapped and photographed
(Fig. 3}. Artifacts were field analyzed for material and type. As
noted above, the site has little potential for contributing further
resource data which would be significant in a better understanding of
Colorado prehistory. Therefore, no further work is considered necessary
at this site. Based on visible surface remains, the present survey area
~ does not appear to contain sites or isolated finds. Care should be
taken during ground disturbance activities in the project area for
subsurface cultural evidence, e.g.', charcoal, bone or artifacts, or
evidence presently obscured by vegetation. if suspect items are
detected, work should immediately cease and the Bureau of Land
Management should be promptly notified.

~.
L~J

L'".~J
ELI
-~~
