Box 58
Delta, Colorado 81416
RE: Blue Ribbon Mine - Request for Modification to Permit
76-6-UG/C
Dear Mr. Tate:
This letter will confirm our receipt of a request by the Blue Ribbon Coal
Company, August 6, 1982,+to secure an approved area for disposal of road out
or embankment sloughage material. This request satisfies the requirements
of inspection item IV-2, BIue Ribbon Inspection Report of June 3, 1982,
The area north of pond 2 should be an acceptable Zocation for placement of
the sloughage material. Some question remains as to the unspecified
"alternate" areas mentioned in tl~e request. The Division recommends
that road cut or embankment sloughage only~be disposed in designated area(s).
Blue Ribbon Coal Company should amend the request to clarify this point.
During the August inspection~of the Blue Ribbon Mine, the Division will make
an on-site determination of the acceptability of all areas proposed for
sloughage disposal.
Should you nave any questions, please contact me.
Sincerely,
Edward L• Bischoff
Senior Reclamation Cialist
ELB :ys
cc: Ric1~ Domingue
Floyd Johnson, OSFf
