- _ ~1 <br />• • <br />6 a.5 93 <br />° D <br />NOTICE OF PROPOSED DECISION <br />The Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology proposes to approve with <br />conditions an application for a permit to conduct coal mining and reclamation <br />operations submitted by Oakridge Energy, Inc. for the Carbon Junction Mine. <br />The Carbon Junction Mine operation is located in La Plata County, <br />approximately 2 1/2 miles southeast of Durango, Colorado. The mine is a <br />surface mine with an anticipated maximum production capacity of 300,000 tons <br />per year. The coal to be mined is privately and federally owned, and the <br />surface to be affected is privately and federally owned. The permit area <br />encompasses approximately 248 acres in Section 33, T 35 N, R 9 W; Section 33, <br />T 34 1/2 N, R 9 W; and Section 4, R 34 N, R 9 W. <br />This proposed approval decision is based on a finding that the proposed <br />operation will comply with all requirements of the Colorado Surface Coal <br />Mining Reclamation Act, C.R.S. 34-33-101, et sec., and the regulations <br />promulgated thereunder. <br />Copies of the proposed decision, including stipulations, are on file for <br />public inspection at the Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology, Room 215, <br />Centennial Building, 1313 Sherman Street, Denver, Colorado 80203 and at the <br />County Clerk's Office in La Plata County, 1060 East Second Avenue, Durango, <br />Colorado. Persons with an interest that may be adversely affected by the <br />proposed decision may request a formal hearing before the Mined Land <br />Reclamation Board on the proposed decision. Such request must be made within <br />thirty (30) days of the initial publication of this notice, must be in <br />writing, and must state with reasonable specificity the reasons for the <br />request and the objections to the proposed decision. <br />
