MOBILIZATION/DEMOBILIZATION
Peabody pointed out to the Division, in a telephone conversation on Nar. 3, 1993
that because of the size of this project, a local contractor should be more
competitive. The Division agreed to mob/demob costs based on Steamboat Springs. The
one way distance becomes 30 miles. Substituting this number into the Divisions' program the
cost for mob/demob is S 8,976.07. The Division also had an error in the pilot car
cost (no. of units), which increased the cost.
/NET PROJECT HOURS
V/ Peabody has revised this cost to match the Division's.
MISCELLANEOUS RECLAMATION TASKS
1. This policy seems to be a bit excessive and rather nonsensical. In the interest of
~ resolving the bond amount, Peabody has included a cost for disposal of stockpiled
coal.
i, 2. Two monitoring wells will be abandoned for a total cost of S 800.
'~ 3. A cost has now been included for rill and gully repair, pond maintenance and any
/ miscellaneous repair/maintenance that may be required.
4. Peabody contacted the SCS Office in Craig, CO regarding fencing costs. They stated
that the going cost in that area is at S 1.15/linear foot for four strand barbed
wire fence. Peabody has revised their estimate accordingly.
INDIRECT COSTS
~ 1. See above.
2. Peabody has deleted the contingency costs from the estimate as suggested.
3. Peabody has changed this rate to reflect the Division's rate of 6.25X.
/4. Peabody has changed this rate to reflect the Division's rate of 10X.
15
