Assuming, BRL provides written verification of this commitment, this will satisfy
the concern expressed in my January 14's memorandum".
Page 3 of the introduction for Volume VII was revised to provide the requested written
commitment to have a qualified geotechnical observer on site during geotechnically sensitive
construction operations.
(3) Outstanding Unresolved Geotechnical Concerns
(1) Inclinometer Monitoring and Reporting - No response required.
(2) Use of Filter Fabrics - No response requved.
(3) Expansive Soils Shear Strength
:~~ ~ =D
r cry 0 51991
The DMG has requested data to support Maxim's conclusion regarding expansive soils
which states; "We do not believe expansion of the reclaimed slope fill to be a concern
for the long term stability of the slopes".
