The current permits were issued on
November 26, 1976 and included a limitation of 5,000 cubic yards
of overburden per year, 20,000 tons of coal through the crusher
per year, and 5,000 tons of coal stockpile per year.
The extent of surface mining has increased significantly since
the permits were issued. In that regard, we request the following
modifications:
Overburden - 2,400,000 cubic yards/year
Coal crushed - 400,000 tons/year
These figures represent current maximum anticipated production
rates rather than actual production, which is somewhat less. This
modification would have been applied for much earlier, however,
our copies of the permits do not specify any limitations, and
since our records were not complete, we were not aware that any
limitations existed.
If you require any additional information, please don't hesitate
to contact me.
Sincerely,
~~~
Rade H.
