Dan Hernandez and Cathy Begej agreed that the application would be called complete upon the receipt of the following: ~~~. 1. Water quality analyses of the October, 1992 samples from: a. The Messier well (Cliffhouse SSl `~j~~~.. ,~ _ b. The Mangrum well (Coal Gulch alluvium) ~ - c. The Coal Gulch Mine well (Menefee formation); ~~ ' L~Ql 2. Water quality and aquifer test data from the "Section 16" well; and, ~ ~ i 3. A commitment from Pennsylvania West to drill another well within 30~days of the completeness date. This well would be used to obtain overburden chemistry information from the roof, coal, and floor strata of the proposed mine, in accordance with Colorado's Guidelines on Baseline Water Quality and Overburden Geochemistry data. The well would be drilled into the Point Lookout sandstone, and the hole would be logged with gamma, resistivity, and density equipment, The physical characteristics of the aquifers found in the hole would be acquired also, per Rule 2.04.;(1)(b). The Findings document for the Coal Gulch Mine, permit C-34.067, indica[ed that the previous operator had agreed to drill a double completion well in the NW 1/4 N~rY 1/4 Section 16, T35N, RIOW. The staff was unable to confirm this while reviewing the permit application this afternoon, as the File is now in Archives. However, the hydrology files from the permit appiication refereac~ ~ sin;!e water quality sample and two water level measurements from .~M-5 taken between November, 19$6, and January, 1987.
