DEPT. OF NATURAL RESOURCES
Subject: Application for a Permit to Conduct Coai Mining in Colorado
This office has received one volume submitted by Grand Mesa Coal Company on the
Red Canyon Mines. This submittal was added to the nine-volume Mining and
Reclamation Plan received February 20, 1981. The original plan was received by
the USGS and found to be technically adequate.
We reviewed the volume concerning the cross-sections of major drainages, wood
production study, and reclamation and find the submittal technically adequate.
We find no conflict between the proposed mining method and future recovery of
coal resources.
Sincerely yours,
/~_kiLL,~~.cilL~'
William Wentworth
District Mining Supervisor
